What ages are the children attending the school?
Ages of children attending school are between 2 ½ and 6 years old. We prefer children to complete the Montessori three year cycle.
How is progress reported to parents?
Parents are welcome to discuss their child’s progress throughout the year. In addition, there is a parent-teacher conference in Term II and a written report at the end of the school year.
Will my child be able to adjust to government or private primary schools after Montessori?
Children who have attended Montessori schools are usually confident, independent workers, and with an interest in learning. As such, they adjust easily to other learning environments.
Does Hatfield Montessori Preschool supply transport?
Parents are responsible for transporting the children to and from school.
Is Montessori Opposed to Fantasy and Creativity?
Montessori philosophy is rooted in appropriate child development stages. As such, a child before the age 7 is more interested in the reality surrounding them and concrete experiences. Creative thought and expression is encouraged at all levels.
What parental involvement is there?
Parent involvement is vital to children’s success in school. Hatfield Montessori strives to involve parents in as many ways as possible, so that families can build the foundation for academic and lifelong success together. There is a parent-teacher association.
Does Montessori teach religion?
While Hatfield Montessori does not teach religion, we celebrate the diversity of religions within our school community. Religious festivals such as Christmas, Eid, Diwali may be discussed and celebrated, giving the community the chance to share traditions and cultures with each other.
Our Peace Education program aims to nurture the spirit of the child by promoting an appreciation of all life, love, kindness, and joy.
